You all know I’m a HUGE fan of hiking our wonderful Jeffco Open Space Parks. Well, a lot of other people are too. So if you’re looking for a great hike, that tends to be on the quieter side, try Evergreen Mountain in Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. This is one of my favorite spots, particularly in the summer and fall months. (Be aware of mountain bikers. You’ll see more of them than you will see hikers on this side of the park).

I usually park at the East Trailhead at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. This parking lot can get crowded depending on what time of day you visit. There is another parking lot (West Trailhead) just up the road and you can easily hop on the trail (Wild Iris) there as well.
In the summer months, I prefer hiking in the evenings when it gets a smidge cooler. The trail begins on the opposite side of the street as the parking lot and it is well marked. Maps are available at the kiosk in the parking lot. I always do a counterclockwise loop. No rhyme or reason. I just do.

If you hike my loop, including the scenic overlooks, it’s about 6.6 miles with a good amount of shade.

Happy Hiking this summer! Be safe.
